Tu instalación de Windows 8.1 debe venir ya con el DirectX 11, ejecuta la tecla Windows + R y teclea dxdiag te sacara la herramienta de Diagnostico de DirectX que te dirá la versión que tienes. Si el problema es por los juegos puedes probar instalar algún directX que venga en los propios juegos y eso te actualizará lo que falta.
